Barnstable Students
People often ask "Who comes to Barnstable Academy?" This is an important question for both students and parents. Barnstable Academy’s student population is a microcosm of the larger public schools in the northwest Bergen County area. Most students who come to Barnstable are looking for a smaller, more nurturing environment in which they can get a strong college preparatory education. There are some students who have chosen Barnstable simply because they will learn better in a class of 8-12 students than in the larger, more impersonal public school classes of 25-30, and others who have a particular learning style or need which can be better addressed in the smaller class setting.
Barnstable offers support and direction to these students from middle school through high school, and then directs students to a college, university, or other continuing education setting where they can continue to succeed.
