Choosing Barnstable Academy for Your Child

Choosing where your child attends school is one of the most important decisions you will make in their lives, one with possibly the most far-reaching effects.

Read some words from our head of school, Dani Ryckman, about the Barnstable approach to education.

gray-quotation-marks-open For over 35 years, Barnstable Academy has been home to students who learn differently. Barnstable has a reputation for not only changing students’ educational trajectory, but changing their lives. We are here to support the many students who know what they are capable of achieving, but are not meeting their potential in the traditional setting. We strive to give all of our students in grades 5-12 the opportunity to succeed academically and socially in a supportive, warm, and caring college-prep environment.

We know that not every student learns the same and that education does not work when it comes in a one-size-fits-all package. Barnstable offers a smaller setting in which we get to know our students really well and take the time to celebrate their abilities. All of our students care deeply for the compassionate, bully-free environment we provide and they are as dedicated as our school team to maintaining a safe and nurturing space to learn.

When a student finds the school that is a fit for them, there is no end to what they can accomplish. Our students may arrive unsure of what their future holds, but with the support they receive at Barnstable they go on to become successful college students, college graduates, professionals in their fields, and contributing members of their communities. We have 35 years of success stories from students that truly reflect the mission and vision of our program.

Barnstable administrators and teachers are committed to “Our Promise” to provide a safe, nurturing college-prep education that encourages students who learn differently to reach new levels of success and achieve their goals.

We are honored to provide education and support to the students who pass through our doors each year. I would like to personally welcome you to come see the difference we make.

From our family to yours, welcome!  gray_quotation_marks_closing
