College Prep

At Barnstable, our curriculum is geared toward helping students prepare for the next phase in life. We also have a number of specific programs to help students along.

We realize the importance of being fully prepared for the S.A.T. Our preparation course takes place during March and April. These twelve sessions encompass the math, critical reading and writing components of the exam. In keeping with our philosophy of education, classes are small so that students can maximize their potential. Further information on this program will be posted on the Web site in the early winter.

We also offer students an Early College Program as a transitional step for those who want to make the challenging leap from high school to college. The program allows seniors and juniors to take one or more three-credit courses during the afternoon. In nearly every instance, a student who is successful in these courses is allowed to transfer the credit to his or her college upon graduation from high school.

This year, 100% of the class of 2009 has been accepted to college. Click here for a list of the colleges past Barnstable students have been accepted to.
