Barnstable to Host Presentation About ADHD in the Classroom April 5
Please join us on Tuesday, April 5 for a presentation by Developmental Pediatrician Dr. Walt Karniski. Karniski will discuss the importance of teaching children with ADHD and learning differences in a way that capitalizes on their unique learning styles, rather than forcing them to conform to a one-size-fits-all approach to education. ADHD and learning differences have a neurologic basis, which leads to differences in behavior, learning and thinking. While these differences are often problematic in the traditional classroom, they can sometimes result in a superior approach to problem solving. However, when teachers try to teach children with ADHD and learning differences in the traditional way, these children become bored or turned off by an approach that does not work for them.
This is a complimentary event, however seats are limited!
