Senior Han Ju Lee Wins Regional Art Awards
Barnstable senior, Han Ju Lee recently had six art pieces awarded a Gold Key Award in the Northern NJ Regional Scholastics Art and Writing Awards. A jury of professional artists, curators, and arts educators spent 27 hours reviewing 2200 works of art submitted by over 600 individual student artists from across northern New Jersey. Lee’s work was selected as part of the top 10% in the region.
Lee will display one piece at the Montclair Art Museum in the Education Gallery from February 10th – March 6 2011. He will also attend an award ceremony where all six will be part of a slide presentation on the opening night in the Museum’s program hall celebrating the Gold, Silver and Honorable mention awards.
All works that received a Gold Key award at the regional level will be forwarded to the National Scholastics Art and Writing Award for consideration for further recognition. National adjudication occurs in March with award ceremony and exhibitions the first week of June.
