Mr. Carlton Tanis is the Director of Admissions and Outreach at Barnstable Academy. He earned his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Drama from Syracuse University, has held a certification in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling from Fordham University and was a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist with a focus on working with families in recovery. He is also a certified Level 1 Reiki practitioner.

In his free time, Mr. Tanis enjoys spending time with his husband and toddler son, traveling, exploring new places, seeing live music and practicing mindfulness, energetic healing and other forms of holistic wellness on his own and for others. As Director of Admissions and Outreach, Mr. Tanis is passionate about sharing the Barnstable vision to change the lives of students and their families by ensuring that Barnstable Academy is the best possible school for each of our students.
